Day 1: The Arrival | Kilimanjaro International Airport - Arusha
On arrival to either Kilimanjaro International Airport or Namanga Boarder you will find an African Chitah driver who will welcome you to Tanzania and escort you to the vehicle ready to be transferred to your arranged hotel in Arusha for dinner and overnight depending on the time of arrival.
Day 2: Arusha - Arusha National Park
After being welcomed to Arusha, in the morning you will begin your safari to Arusha National Park. The entrance gate of Arusha National Park leads into the forest of inhabited blue monkeys and colourful turacos and trogons – the only place on the northern safari circuit where the acrobatic black-and-white colobus monkey are easily seen. In the midst of the forest stands the spectacular Ngurdoto Crater, whose steep rocky cliffs enclose a wide marshy floor dotted with herds of buffalo and warthog. While in Arusha National Park you will be able to enjoy the view of Mount Meru by walking close to it for about 2 to 3 hours with armed ranger who will be accompanying you throughout. Although elephants are uncommon in Arusha National Park, and lions are absent altogether, leopards and spotted hyenas may be seen. In the evening you will be transferred back to Arusha in your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Arusha - Tarangire National Park
In the morning after breakfast your safari driver guide takes you to Tarangire National Park. Tarangire National Park has some of the highest population density of elephants as compared to anywhere in Tanzania. Breathtaking views of the Maasai Steppe and the mountains in the south make a stopover at Tarangire a memorable experience, herds of up to 300 elephants scratch the dry river bed for underground streams, while migratory wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, impala, gazelle, hartebeest and eland crowd the shrinking lagoons. It’s the greatest concentration of wildlife outside the Serengeti ecosystem - a smorgasbord for predators – and the one place in Tanzania where dry-country antelope such as the stately fringe-eared oryx and peculiar long-necked gerenuk are regularly observed. After a long enjoyable safari you will be transferred to a lodge for dinner and of course overnight.
Day 4: Tarangire - Lake Manyara National Park
In the morning after breakfast begin your exploration of this wonderful country as you drive to Lake Manyara. Although it is one of Tanzania’s small wildlife enclaves, Lake Manyara National Park is a spectacular reserve that boasts an incredible diversity of terrain, as well as plant and animal species. After the whole day game driver later in the evening you will be transferred to the hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Manyara - Lake Natron
Here we continue with exploring Tanzania’s beauty by travelling to Lake Natron. Lake Natron is situated between Ngorongoro and Serengeti at the base of the one and only famous active volcanic mountain in Tanzania Oldonyo Lengai, meaning ‘’mountain of God’’. The place is made more attractive by the presence of around three million flamingos which can be easily seen flying here and there. Walks around the lake and to the streams and waterfalls along the nearby escarpment make for a fantastic adventure off the beaten track. There are a number of campgrounds near the lake, which is also the base for climbing Oldonyo Lengai. After exploring Lake Natron and having a lot of photos right there it is the time to have break and have dinner and overnight at one of the camps.
Day 6: Lake Natron - Serengeti
Your driver guide now takes you to Serengeti undoubtedly one of the best-known wildlife sanctuaries in the world, unequalled for its natural beauty and scientific value. You arrive to this wonderful place in the late morning and you will have a game viewing drive for the whole day before being transferred to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Serengeti
Today you will have the whole day game drive to this most wonderful ever place in the world. Optional activities while at the Serengeti include visits to local Masai village to learn the local culture of this colourful tribe. An adventure worth taking is the balloon safari. Launching at dawn, rising as the sun rises you gently float over the plains of the magnificent Serengeti.
Day 8: Serengeti - Ngorongoro
On this day, you will be heading to Ngorongoro Conservation area. In the morning descend down the crater for an enchanting game viewing drive. Known as ‘the eighth wonder of the world' the Ngorongoro Crater is one of Africa's best-known wildlife arenas. The UNESCO World Heritage Site, it offers a unique biosphere, which has remained virtually unchanged since the dawn of time. Deep within the Crater, enclosed by towering walls, some 25,000 large mammals wander the plains, lakes and forests of ‘the land. Overnight at one of the lodges in Ngorongoro or Karatu.
Day 9: Ngorongoro - Arusha
This will be your last day with African Chitah Ltd after having a life time experience safari, in the morning your driver guide will transfer you back to Arusha where you can have time to do shopping of some materials and town excursions before being transferred to airport or Namanga on your way back home. While at home don’t forget to post various photos and share this wonderful area of Tanzania to friends and relatives.
