On This Day
After the safari briefing, your driver guide will pack your luggage in a 4x4 Land Cruiser Vehicle where he will make sure everyone gets a sit with a window for a clear view, then you will have about 2 hours drive before you begin your exploration of this wonderful country to your destination of the day Lake Manyara National Park. Although it is one of Tanzania’s small wildlife enclaves, Lake Manyara National Park is a spectacular reserve that boasts an incredible diversity of land. This is the area where bird lovers will enjoy the most, the lake is full of birds such as hundreds of pink flamingos and yellow billed storks to mention a few flying here and there around the lake. Treetop Walkway This 370m airwalk starts with a short board-walk that gradually rises from ground level up through the canopy of the forest. You walk over a series of suspension bridges with thick netting on the sides, and reach a height of 18m off the ground. Each of the bridges end on a viewing deck situated around tree trunks. These treetop platforms are perfect places to stop and enjoy life in the canopy amongst butterflies, monkeys and birds. During this walk guides will point out interesting facts about the Lake Manyara flora and fauna, while you can enjoy a unique birds-eye view of the world around you. This is Tanzania's first Treetop Walkway and one of the longest in Africa. A great outdoor activity for nature lovers and adventure seekers. Also Lake Manyara is famous for a special variety of tree climbing lions which is probably the only variety of lions which cannot be found elsewhere in the world, but also a great concentration of baboons, blue monkeys, large buffalos, wildebeest, zebras and giraffe. In the afternoon you will have lunch in the park before completing your game drive. After the whole day game drive later in the evening you will be transferred back to Arusha.
